Pilgrimage destinations

All the main pilgrimage destinations by car and by guide, we recommend Santa Rita da Cascia, Assisi and S. Giovanni Rotondo.

San Giovanni Rotondo (1 day visit)

Spiritual heir of St. Francis of Assisi, Padre Pio of Pietrelcina was the first priest to carry the marks of crucifixion on his body. This extraordinary phenomenon catalysed the attention of the common people on Padre Pio who, over the course of many decades, went to San Giovanni Rotondo to meet the “Holy” friar.

Assisi (1 day visit)

Assisi, an ancient medieval city built on a hill lying on the slopes of Mount Subasio, is the birthplace of St. Francis.

The discovery of the bodies of San Francesco (1818) and Santa Chiara (1850) made Assisi a favorite pilgrimage destination.

Loreto (1 day visit)

A town in the Marche region in the province of Ancona, Loreto is famous for being the home of the Basilica of the Holy House, one of the most important and ancient places of Marian pilgrimage in the Catholic world.

Cascia (1 day visit)

In speaking of Cascia we cannot fail to mention Saint Rita, a nun beatified in 1900 and Saint known as a dispenser of grace, venerated throughout the world. The sanctuary dedicated to her is a pilgrimage destination.
